GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Sales & Program Manager will have a general understanding of the automotive industry and knowledge of the general expectations placed on an automotive supplier at each stage of the program life-cycle. Under the close direction of the Automotive Sales Manager, the Assistant Sales & Program Manager is responsible for supporting the program management and commercial activity pertaining to JAE products & customers. This includes providing technical and scheduling support for all assigned platforms and model years. The individual will be responsible for assisting in the coordination and management of programs through the development, prototype, production, and delivery phases after the design-in effort is completed.

The Assistant Sales & Program Manager will be a critical interface to the customer for resolving commercial, capacity and production issues. Under the guidance of the Sales Manager, he/she will be responsible for tracking and reporting progress of programs to both the customer and within JAE. He/she will be expected to communicate the customer's requirements within JAE's organization and interface with multiple groups within JAE to ensure customer specific requirements are understood and met.

Additional commercial and administrative responsibilities will be required including (but not limited to) the following: forecasting, budgeting, quote preparation/submission, with potential future responsibilities of Tier 1 account management and new-product promotion/business-development.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provide sales and bookings forecasts for OEM programs and Tier 1 customers.
  • Assist in the management of program launch activities for assigned OEM programs & Tier 1 customers.
  • Reporting of program details, progress, and issues to both customer and relevant JAE departments.
  • Support all sales activities, quotations, and cost breakdowns for assigned OEM programs & Tier 1 customers.
  • Provide input to the Sales Manager to identify and facilitate resolution of critical business issues.
  • Interface between the customers and JAE's Sales, Marketing, Engineering and Manufacturing groups.

CORE COMPETENCIES:

  1. Automotive supplier experience in sales, sales-administration, and/or program-management preferred
  2. Ability to initiate and maintain customer / supplier relationships

BUSINESS TRAVEL:

This position may require traveling up to 10% of the time.

PHYSICAL DEMAND:

This position requires lifting up to 25 pounds.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's Degree (Business / Engineering preferred) completed or pending completion           

Experience: 1-3 years combined experience in Automotive Sales, Program Management, Applications Engineering or Technical Sales.

                      Experience working with Honda highly preferred.
